New IWC Big Ingenieur - Functionality Expressed through Generous Size

This idea is expressed not only through the integrated side guard for the case's screw-in crown, but also by the remarkable water resistance and pressure resistance up to 120 meters. The timepiece is powered by the IWC in-house large 51112 caliber movement equipped with an automatic Pellaton winding system as well as a seven-day power reserve. This attractive alternative version of the Big Ingenieur without the non-transparent iron cage has gained additional height and provides the advantage of a sapphire glass back. As for the 5000-series movements, they are visually impressive. The Ingenieur case measuring 45.5 mm in diameter improves the comfort of wearing, in spite of the considerable size. This advantage is explained by using a comfortable leather strap instead of a steel bracelet. The distinctive Ingenieur style is reflected not only through the case construction, but also through the dial design. The IWC Big Ingenieur displays the legible date positioned at 6 o'clock, while the seven-day power reserve display featuring the red indication for the last day is found at 3 o'clock. Due to the dial's size, the IWC watch's designers created the optimal, generously dimensioned indicators' display. This new model has become the largest IWC Ingenieur watch ever developed. The jumbo member of the iconic IWC watch family, is special for its robustness.
